Bio
What blogs are saying about us - yeah!

Whothehell.net: "Taking the lead from the darker spectrum of '70s punk, CHAINGANG straddle the line between indie and punk, much like their contemporaries Die! Die! Die! and Young and Restless, though they do it with a slight touch of morosity; almost Nick Cave in its darkness."

Lost at E Minor: "Oh boy, help me regain my balance. CHAINGANG's Get Off My Stage is the sort of song you just want to spin around and around to — endlessly, mindlessly..."

Bibabidi: "Sounds like the spastic, brash bar band rock that was Joan Jett or the Runaways mixed with the tribal delight of Siouxsie & the Banshees... Gothic Blondie. I dunno. It's rad, it's rockin', it's flailing down the streets with pants down, it's hooting and hollering, kicking and screaming. Let me go and bang my head to this stuff - maybe you all should follow suit."

This is an energetic song with a great sense of dynamics. The high energy levels are maintained throughout the whole song and I imagine this would be quite a riot live.

How menacing is the bass intro? This claustrophobic feeling is carried through the whole song, especially by the vocals (and even more so when they're layered).

It's The Gossip meets The Cramps - frantic indie rock with a hint of swampy sounds

One pass of the jangly opening chords and then it's into the thunderousness. This track has an exceptional bass line – totally chromatic, sick, scale-avoiding wickedness. Terrific vocals from Hayley, who weaves a perilous melody around the mobile body of the song. The band's massive energy is directed with clarity in a style that's already speaking loudly across just a handful of tracks.

This song is brilliant, only just stumbled across you now and really like it. Next time we're in sydney we'd love to catch a live show of yours, good luck in the comp.

Sweet Jesus H Christ, if you live in Sydney and you haven't seen this band live yet then you're pretty much missing the best thing Sydney has going for it as for as local goes.
This song is my favorite one live.....

Chaingang i heart you.
