Bio
The Battery Kids exploded onto the Adelaide music scene in 2005. The four members met while studying music and recorded a three track demo. The CD saw them gig all around town, supporting such acts as The Vasco Era, Whiskey Go Go’s, The Inches, Special Patrol aswell as touring to melbourne.

In late 2006, TBK. recorded their debut EP Requiem for a Nightmare, combining haunting melodies and orchestration with an urgency and catchiness usually reserved for the dance floor. The independent release earned them Triple J airplay and 5-star reviews in Australian street magazines and newspapers. Requiem for a Nightmare took the band to #7 on the 3D radio charts and #2 on the Australian Mp3 Charts.

TBK have just completed recording two tracks with renowned producer Matt Hills, these tracks have recieved good air paly on commercial and communtiy radio. Now TBK have just recieved a Arts SA Grant to record and are now new demoing tracks for their debut album, due for release in Oct.

Ghost Town

Review by: <Scott_m> , 1.8.2008

They've been slowly working their way around the traps for a few years now, but it seems that The Battery Kids' time has finally arrived. The paranoid indivualism of Ghost Town allays initial fears it'll be a scratchy 2-Tone affair, with this edgy song delivering a charge of current to a scene overrun with emo gremlins. Harmonies, synths and a classical nod in the piano breakdown add to the delirious zest of this mighty tune.

Its an ok song, just lacking originality and depth. It sounds too much like muse and the more modern, flamboyant daniel johns.

Great piano playing, nice chords. The line 'you aint never gonna make it in this town' is a awesome hook! Very well recorded. This song kicks arse. Cool trumpet solo. Well done. You guys sound tighter than something really really tight!

This one is even better than Ghost Town! The organ fills it out so well. Great choir sounds it the verses. And the chorus just kicks arse. Very classical sounding bridge. Awesome song!

Cool catching little ditty. There's a nice space built in the verses with the tremolo guitar and the delay on the vocals. Great harmonies in the choruses. Ahh Shit.. Nice lead in to the bridge. Love it!!!
