Rocketsmiths propel themselves to victory in the Brisbane heat of MTV Kickstart!

Heat five was a colossal tug-o-war with all bands burning down The Troubadour in a final effort to clinch Brisbane’s title of supreme ruler.


Judges Peita Dixon [from MTV’s Talent and Relations department] Steve Bell [Time Off magazine] Adam Hunter [Brisbane promoter] and Alix Oliver [radio 4EB] certainly had a tough old time selecting the victor.


It was clear from early on Rocketsmiths had quite a tussle on their hands with such formidable opponents vying for the golden ticket, namely The Cairos, Villains of Wilhelm, Little Scout and Tragic/ Athletic all bringing their ‘A’ games.


Rocketsmiths next stop will be Sydney on September 9 to challenge the rest of the finalists from each city during a televised 'Kickstart Final' to be held at MTV’s own temple of boom 'The Lair'.


The finalists will be posted on the MTV Kickstart website where you can get in on the action by voting for your favourite artist at www.mtv.com.au/kickstart.


Voting will commence on September 15 and will be open until October 10.

The MTV Kickstart winner will be announced live online at  on October 15 @ 8:00pm so peel those corneas!
