Catch up with Indie/ Pop gems Little Scout.

1} List any big lessons you've learned since playing around the traps... {Maybe this can warn the peoples reading!}

 Wearing pants on stage is very important for boys in indie-pop bands... also that practice makes perfect, and that there is no better experience than playing an awesome show alongside bands that you adore.

2} Strangest band related incident?

Probably the strangest event for us was when we decided to play an acoustic show in a Laundromat. Unfortunately, nobody was doing their laundry that day and could not pay witness to such a lovely and silly event. The acoustics in Laundromats are brilliant. Next time we hope to advertise within the Laundromat with flyers and posters, so that Laundromat enthusiasts can plan their ever-so-exciting wash day! We like to call it "suds-pop."

3} Which other bands/artists share your vision/ ethos?

Little Scout enjoy and look up to artists like Belle and Sebastian, Jens Lekman, The Arcade Fire, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, The John Steel Singers and many more for their toe tapping music and general commitment to producing music that is fun for the music maker and the listener. These bands are also as amazing live as they are recorded, which Little Scout thinks is extremely important. Music should always be enjoyable and interesting with great melodies and crazy instrumentation and percussion, making your mind envisage glorious things like rainbows, dinosaurs skipping and lots of people dancing... or whatever makes you happy! 

4} Tell us about any news coming up for you?

 We are releasing an EP called "The Dead Loss Ep" with a launch on August 16th in sunny Brisbane. With much support from the Brisbane music scene and street press, we can't wait to get our songs out there.

5) If you had $15k what would you choose to do with it?

Wow. Aside from be eternally grateful, gasp and faint into a little pile on the floor, we would plan an Australia-wide tour alongside one of our most favorite bands, and print up more EP's to accompany us on our journey. We would shoot a video for one of our tracks, utilizing the talents of up-and-coming and unknown film makers and creatives. With the generous media and industry support generated from MTV Kickstart, we Scouts would record an album or second EP featuring all of the new tracks that have been written. We always dream about having a manager, a Mum or Dad for Little Scout. From there, the possibilities and dreams are endless!
