Kickstart Winners Announced!

It's been a long, arduous yet fun filled journey to find the supreme winner for Kickstart 2008.

From the call to arms in June, through to the regional heats through to the sweat-soaked epic National Kickstart Tour, our finalists have done the hard slog and the support from you, our partners in music love has been astounding.

Now it is our absolute pleasure and joy to introduce the Next Big Thing on the Australian Music scene!

Congrats, well done and salutations to Adelaide’s own Skye Harbour who have been crowned winners of MTV Kickstart 2008!

Winning by a close margin by public vote, Skye Harbour beat out the other finalists - The Mischief [Sydney], Polo Club [Melbourne], The Moderns [Gold Coast], Emcee Able [Perth] and Rocketsmiths [Brisbane] - to win take the Kickstart crown.

In addition to the crown, Skye Harbour take home $15,000 cash, introductions to Australian music label A&R departments, publicity support from MTV Australia and involvement in the ‘MTV AT THE 2008 ARIA RED CARPET‘ show.

Skye Harbour will rock up in a pimped out limo, walk the red carpet with the biggest stars of Australian music and be interviewed by MTV and a bunch of other media outlets, all before they sit down at a VIP table to watch the 2008 ARIA awards in true rockstar style amongst their idols.

Big ups to everyone who got behind MTV Kickstart 2008, with major props going to our partners in music love Toyota Yaris! The smorgasbord of rock, electronica/pop and hip hop served up from the countries finest unsigned acts once again what a wealth of extraordinary talent we have simmering.
