ABOUT MTV KICKSTART

Kickstart is a national band search competition run by MTV.

Open to all bands not currently signed to a major label, Kickstart is a brilliant initiative that will literally give aspiring and independent artists a 'Kickstart' in the industry by giving them all the tools necessary to break into the music industry.

What's Gone Down Thus Far?

Choosing from the pool of entries via the website, the top 5 acts from Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane were chosen via the website by industry insiders in time for the National Kickstart Tour which ran through August and September.

Each finalist from each city got to play two songs live at the National Kickstart Tour in their capital city in a bid to win over a panel of industry judges. The winner from each heat has a clip posted onto the Kickstart homepage, and now it's up to you, the adoring public to vote!

Whoever has the most support will take out Kickstart for 2008.

What Do I Need To Do Now?

Now it’s down to you guys.  That’s right; you have the power to vote in The Next Big Thing! Get to the Vote page, have a listen and cast your vote (1 per day).

If you’ve missed your chance at Fame, Fans, and Fortune this year, despair not!

You can still up load your bio, pics, videos and up to three MP3 tracks onto your profile. As the new ‘hub’ of unsigned artists and the keeper of extraordinary talent, you never know who will be checking mtv.com.au/kickstart. And don't forget to load all your up-coming gigs onto the Gig Guide page!

NB. Although the charts (coming soon) are a reflection of Kickstart users preferred music, judges decision on Kickstart winner for 2008 will be final.
